On sun-scorched lands, iftar is the moment most eagerly awaited—the moment the call to prayer is heard. For us, iftar means abundant tables filled with various dishes and chilled water ready to be served. But in a remote village in Africa, iftar sometimes means nothing more than a single date and a sip of clean water.
This Ramadan, as Kardeşim Association, we invite you to tables thousands of kilometers away—to the iftar tables of brothers and sisters you may have never met, yet are deeply connected to by heart. Through Africa iftar donations, the ground tables we set will, God willing, strengthen the consciousness of the Ummah and the bonds of brotherhood.
The African continent is one of the regions where humanitarian crises, drought, and poverty are felt most deeply. Especially in countries such as Tanzania, Uganda, Niger, Nigeria, and Chad, millions of our brothers and sisters face severe difficulties in accessing clean water and food.
Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said in a hadith:
“Whoever provides iftar for a fasting person will receive a reward equal to that of the fasting person.”
One of the most meaningful places to attain this glad tiding is Africa. Because an Africa iftar table is not merely a hot meal—it is proof that they have not been forgotten, a source of hope, and a moment of Eid-like joy for those people.
The cost of one iftar meal is 150 TL. What may seem like a small amount to us can become one of the happiest moments in the life of an oppressed person in Africa. Your donations are used in the most efficient way possible according to local economic conditions and are transformed into hot meal distributions.
As Kardeşim Association, within the scope of Africa food aid, we provide:
Hot and Filling Menus: Nutritious meals consisting of rice, meat, local vegetable dishes, and fruit juice.
Priority for Orphans: Our iftar tables prioritize orphanages and children without caregivers.
Name-Specific Video Proof: For collective iftar organizations or donations above a certain amount, we document the delivery of your donation transparently with videos in which your name is read aloud or displayed.
During Ramadan 2026, our route once again leads to regions of hardship. Our teams have completed preparations months in advance for Africa iftar organizations. Our goal is to reach the driest and poorest villages in at least five countries.
This year’s activity route includes:
Tanzania: Collective iftars in rural villages
Uganda: Iftar meals at orphanages
Niger and Chad: Iftars near water wells in drought-affected villages
Nigeria: Food distributions in underprivileged neighborhoods
We would like to address a common misconception. Iftar meals do not replace zakat, because for zakat to be valid, ownership of wealth or goods must be transferred to the poor. Feeding a meal is considered hospitality, not ownership.
However, you may direct your donations as follows:
Iftar Donations: By donating iftar meals with the intention of sadaqah and charity, you can attain the multiplied reward of feeding a fasting person during Ramadan.
Zakat and Fitrah: You may direct your zakat and fitrah to food parcels (grocery packages) prepared for distribution in Africa or to direct cash aid funds. Since ownership of the food parcel is transferred to the beneficiary, your zakat is validly fulfilled.
As you sit at your blessed iftar table at home, would you like your soul to travel to the sincere atmosphere of Africa? A donation made with a single click can erase distances and unite you at the same spiritual table with a brother or sister you have never met.
This Ramadan, let us break our fast not only for ourselves, but for the Ummah. With an iftar donation of 150 TL, let us carry goodness across continents.
