We are experiencing the excitement of reaching Ramadan al-Sharif, the month of mercy, abundance, and forgiveness. As Kardeşim Association, we have prepared a comprehensive guide both for those who are curious about the calendar details of this blessed period and for those who wish to learn more about the bridge of brotherhood that extends across continents.
In 2026, the month of Ramadan begins on Wednesday, February 18. This year as well, through Kardeşim Association, you can become a guest at the tables of the oppressed in Africa with an iftar donation of 150 TL, and take part in their prayers.
As of the date this article is read—January 7, 2026—there are approximately 41 days left until Ramadan, the final and most eagerly awaited of the sacred three months for millions of Muslims. According to the 2026 religious calendar published by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), the process will unfold as follows:
We are currently breathing in the spiritual atmosphere of the blessed month of Rajab. Then, on January 20, 2026, the month of Sha‘ban will begin, and finally, on February 18, we will welcome Ramadan.
Believers who will observe fasting will rise for the first suhoor on the night connecting Tuesday, February 17 to Wednesday, February 18, 2026. The fasts that begin with the blessing of the first suhoor will be broken with the first sunset adhan on Wednesday evening, February 18.
Since Ramadan 2026 coincides with the final days of winter, the fasts will be observed on relatively cooler and shorter days. This provides a great ease, especially for those who struggle during hot weather, and allows acts of worship to be performed with greater energy and focus.
The last fast will be observed on Thursday, March 19, 2026, the Day of Arafah (Arefe Günü).
Ramadan Bayram, when the spiritual harvest of Ramadan is gathered, will begin on Friday, March 20, 2026. For employees and students planning their holidays, the calendar is as follows:
Arefe Day: Thursday, March 19 (official half-day holiday in the afternoon)
1st Day of Eid: Friday, March 20
2nd Day of Eid: Saturday, March 21
3rd Day of Eid: Sunday, March 22
The frequently asked question, “Will the Eid holiday be 9 days?”, depends on administrative decisions. In the current situation, the official holiday combines with the weekend to total 3.5 days. For it to extend to 9 days, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before the Eid would need to be declared administrative leave by the government. However, since Arefe Day falls on a Thursday, this possibility is weaker compared to years when the holiday falls midweek.
Sunday, March 15, 2026
Laylat al-Qadr, which has been given the glad tidings of being better than a thousand months, will be observed on the night connecting the 26th to the 27th night of Ramadan. According to the calendar, this blessed night falls on Sunday, March 15, 2026. On this special night, Kardeşim Association elevates collective iftar organizations in African orphanages and impoverished villages, serving as a bridge for donors’ charitable deeds.
As Kardeşim Association, we have set the Africa iftar donation amount for 2026 at 150 TL. While this may seem like a small amount to us, it can turn into one of the happiest moments for a family in countries such as Chad, Niger, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, or Somalia.
At the tables established through your donations, we provide:
Nutritious, high-protein hot meals with meat,
Packaged clean drinking water,
Fruit or dessert treats.
Throughout Ramadan or on special occasions such as Laylat al-Qadr, you can donate an iftar meal for 150 TL on behalf of your loved ones, your deceased relatives, or those seeking healing. Our local teams deliver your entrusted donations to those in need with great care from the first day to the last day of Ramadan.
